Missions

I have had two experiences working with mission (non-profit) agencies for a combined length of 13-months.

After graduating Houghton College in May of 2003, I volunteered as an intern with Mexico Caravan Ministries in Tijuana, Mexico leading groups in the construction of over 140 house and roof builds. I was apart of Serve 2004 while I was on staff and attended Serve 2008 while I was working at Point Loma Nazarene University. I have returned more than 25 times since leaving in August of 2004 to build houses, mentor the staff, or grab some food.

At the time, my girlfriend was working as a ESL teach with Kid's Alive in Lima, Peru. I visited her for a month, but to do so, I worked 8 hours at the orphange everyday so that it would pass the upcoming inspection for earthquake and fire codes. This was a great opportunity to see how another ministry operated.
